(More customer reviews)I built this with my nine-year-old daughter.I used a small finishing nail locked in a pair of vise-grips for piercing the holes in the constellations. My daughter had fun doing this. You push down on the light to turn it on & off (4 AA's). Double-stick tape is a little tough to work with but the cardboard patterns are accurate and fit together well. We put it in her room & she was impressed with the ceiling pattern it projected.Would be more educational to have a color paper map to study while looking at the ceiling.

However, my family found that the negative issues others experienced were simply not the case with us.There are claims that this toy is a "one trick pony," or in other words that it is only good for one thing. However, the products own webpage has plans for several ways to reconstruct the parts in different configurations.

The bottom line is that if your child is inventive and likes building, they will like this toy. Ours even found uses for the parts with other toys like Legos, Bionicles, etc.

However, it can be annoyingly noisy at times. And pets like dogs can activate it its on/off mechanism pretty easily.Those are the only two warnings I would advise potential purchasers of this product.

UNO MOO Preschool Game Review

(More customer reviews)My 3 year old daughter loves to play games, so when we saw this one, it went right on her Christmas list.And for as hard as it was to find this holiday season, I had high expectations.I was disappointed.

Here's my 2 cents:

-It is difficult to randomly pick a character from the barn when you can see what you are picking.We try having everyone close their eyes, but it doesn't really work!
-The haystacks surely won't last long, and if you are playing on the floor, they don't do much good anyways.
-The concept and packaging is great - love the fact that it is small and self contained.The less space it takes up in the closet the better!

The bottom line is that we don't play that this often (and we play a game every night).When it does come out, we usually don't have a successful game.If you are looking for a game that will teach the same rules (color/matching), I would suggest a children's deck of Crazy Eights...we were playing that when she was 2.5 and it was much easier and less frustrating than this game!

If you are looking for other good board games to play for a 3 year old, I would suggest Toy Story Yahtzee Jr, Sequence for Kids, and Zingo.Those are the big hits in our house!

I loved when I first got this toy in my mail box I was soooooooo exicted to get it out and play...to my dissapointment after putting on five coats of my newly made nail polish it flaked off :(. My mom knew how much I was looking forward to this so she took a look at the toy, we concluded that the stuff you mix in to make the polish doesn't work.
Heres what to do if your not having any fun: (this makes nail polish that stays on)
1) Get plain white/pearly white colored nail polish color (from a drug store)
2) Instead of pouring the little packet in pour you nail white nail polish color
3) Add the color from the coloring chamber and glitter if you want too
4) Put in mixing chamber for about two minutes
5) Look at the new amazing color you made smile to yourself!!
Ok the nail dryer may not work that well put it is a TOY. If you didn't know the dial to make the mixing chamber work also makes the nail dryer work.
Im happy my mom figured this out for me and if you have a child that HATES this toy, try doing this for them I've made so many amazing colors so far.

Robot mode pros:
-He's hunched over, just like in the film and can actually use his cane as a cane. (How neat is that?) Captures the feel of the film character.

-He's rather posable considering all of his gimmicks and combiner pieces being a core component of the figure.

-His face is a nearly perfect representation of the film character. (A really nice job, no seriously.)

Robot mode cons:

-His balance is a bit difficult due to his legs having weak ratchets compared to the voluminous weight of his backpack. (This is where the hunched over look comes in handy.)

-The panels that hide his face for vehicle and combined mode are double ball jointed and they pop off all the time. Becomes rather bothersome to have to snap 'em back in place all the time.

Transformation pros:

-Rather easy, so you (or your kids) won't be terribly frustrated going from one mode or the other, unlike Optimus Prime. (There's a figure that'll make kids and parents alike, unhappy.)

-When done correctly (read the instructions, you'll see what I mean.) he holds together tight and firm. (in both modes.)

Transformation cons:

-Panels pop off, pieces have to be set just right to make sure the entire shell of the place is locked in place. (I know it sounds like I contradicted my earlier statement of him being easy to transform, and I still stand by that. It just takes a lot of fine tuning to get it just right. It's worth it though.)

Vehicle mode pros:

-Massive. (No, seriously. His vehicle mode is that of a Lockheed Martin, Skunkworks SR-71. This is a good 15 inches long, perhaps even longer, I've yet to measure it.) If you wish to display him in vehicle mode, make room, otherwise he'll be a problem when finding a spot. (He's massive, did I mention that? :P)

-Exacting detail. (One of the best detailing jobs on a figure I've ever seen. Every panel, every intake, even the pilot's name (which I believe is fictional, I Googled...) is there in stunning accuracy. It even has the Skunkworks logo on the tail fins!)

Vehicle mode cons:

-The robot parts can be seen on the underside of the plane, which kills the accuracy on that end of it. (But the rest of the vehicle mode is replicated to the finest details.)

-His size. (It's a pro and a con. Pro for the awesome factor, con for the storage factor. Seriously, he's darn near unmanageable.)

Comebined mode pros:

-Captures the film character rather well, considering it's literally two toys latched together.

-Imposing, impressive, and hefty. (I mean it, he's a heavy bugger in the combined mode.)

Combined mode cons:

-Very difficult to make all the connectors work. (Once they do, they're difficult to remove.)

-No posability, just an awesome looking statue with movable arms and a head.

-Top heavy.

Other thoughts:

Overall, Jetfire is a solid figure, with a terrific vehicle mode, and a neat transformation. He isn't without his flaws, however, but they aren't enough to ruin the figure's fun and awesomeness. Once you have it in your hands, you'll see what I mean. The few negatives are well worth all of the positives on this figure.

I do recommend you be careful with the rubbery belt pieces (used for the combined mode) because they look like they could easily break, or dry rot as time goes on.

The combination is cheesy, at best, though it looks impressive, and makes for an irritating time when connecting and disconnecting the figures from one another.

If you can find one, I highly recommend you get this guy. He's a really nice addition to anyone's collection, or that newly made TF fan's wish list. (Welcome to our world, btw!)

Fisher-Price Precious Places Swan Palace Review

She loves anything fanciful and princess. She absolutely lives this palace. It really caters to her love of fairy tales and fantasy. She would rather pretend to go to the ball, than burp babies so this is right up her alley. I don't know why Fisher Price did not think of this sooner but I'm glad it came out in time for my little princess. Pure stroke of genius.

I bought the Swan carriage too and I am very happy with my entire purchase. The palace is a good size, and I love the fold down pieces that expand the castle even more. The design is ingenious. All the furniture is built in so no need to buy extra. The thrown room flips to reveal a table set for tea. I just love the sounds too. A waltz for the dance hall and fanfare when the palace doors open.

The people are easy to grasp and move. My DD can put on the crowns and capes by herself. Like all other Fisher Price toys, this castle is built to last. I can't get over the attention to detail on these pieces. The colors are sweet and the design is very ornate. They are simply beautiful. Fisher Price has outdone themselves and they did it at a fair price. Awesome!!!

Batman Dark Knight Movie Deluxe Action Figure Batman Review

(More customer reviews)I've decided to form a solid collection of movie version superhero figures, and of course, I want them all to match in size. Apparently, I'm not the only one who feels this way, because recently they created a new line of Spider-Man figures due to folks complaining about the first ones released for Spider-Man 3 being smaller than those released for the previous films. I was a nut for Star Wars figures as a kid (still am), but now the desired size for everything else is around 6 inches tall. Thankfully, the DC Comics films are finally following suit with a special "Movie Masters" line of four 6-inch action figures from the upcoming sequel to "Batman Begins", "The Dark Knight", which are just the right size to stand next to my first film Spidey and Mary Jane, Mark 03 Iron Man, uniformed Wolverine and Rogue, and 9-inch first film Hulk. Yeah, I know, I have a lot of catching up to do with the other X-Men, Daredevil, Fantastic Four, and Silver Surfer movie figures out there that I'll have to get online or something. Did they ever make a 6 inch movie Blade, Elektra, or Punisher?

Now, Batman is probably my favorite superhero, and "Batman Begins" is still probably my favorite superhero movie ("Iron Man" was awesome though) and I am so psyched for part 2, so this was a very cool discovery for me. There are four figures in this line that is aimed at collectors, Batman, Joker, a Clown Henchman, and a Chase figure of Batman without his mask, all with higher detail and realism than the larger line of slightly smaller Dark Knight figures targeted at kids who are really going to play with them. You know, the line with all the cheesy Batmans in costumes he never wears and the Joker who looks like he's nearly bald on one side.

While the very cool Movie Masters Joker seems to be nearly as hard to find as the Chase figure (no doubt due to the recent, tragic loss of actor Heath Ledger), it is still rather premature (as I write this review BEFORE the film's release) to pay the outrageous prices being charged for these figures online. I just picked up my Batman figure tonight at the biggest retail store in America for around 11.50 plus tax, and they had plenty of him and the Henchman. If you're there at the right time and place, I'msure you can still land the Joker and Chase figure too. But, on to the details!

The Batman figure, is, as I said, 6 inches tall and looks perfect alongside the various Marvel figures I mentioned before. He is intensely detailed and absolutely fantastic looking, though I still recommend buying these in person so you can inspect the paint jobs. I took a while to find one I was happy with in that mouth/chin area where the skin paint is, and you have to check the eyes too. The cape is molded plastic, which I have mixed feelings about. It looks very cool though, no doubt. A word about the costume though. Frankly, and while I'm sure it is totally accurate to the movie, I wish they had downplayed the armored look of it with this sequel. Bat's suit now looks more like armor than it did in Batman Begins, while I wish it looked a bit sleeker since, truly, Batman should be wearing tights (sounds silly and it's probably less realistic, but I've seen some fan films online that totally pull it off). At the very least, I wish they'd made his suit with gray and black other than pure black. In some areas, it's a slightly less dark black, but it still could only be called black. I don't love the fact that you can barely notice his bat symbol on his chest. Still, like I said, it's beautifully detailed and I suspect entirely accurate to the new film. Gotta put the blame on the filmmakers for that one. Anywho, the figure has at least 18 points of articulation. I see one more possible point at the ribcage area, but I'm not sure about it. If it's an articulation point, it's a tricky one. His head is nicely articulated too, much in the way I expected my new Iron Man movie figure to be (but that one didn't seem to be). Overall, we're talking about one very pleasing Batman movie figure.

As for the accessories, they kinda dropped the ball on that one. You get a Batman mask that is like 3 inches long from chin to points, making absolutely no sense, and also a Gotham PD evidence bag to put it in before you store it away with all those other useless accessories. Definitely, a batarang and a little Joker card would have been much more appreciated. The Joker in this line has an awesome extra of an actual size movie replica Joker card. Extras aside though, this Batman figure is totally a must own. If you're looking for "Dark Knight" figures for yourself rather than your kids, go for these Movie Masters versions. They don't say "Movie Masters" on the front (they're just called that in the description on the back), but you'll know you've found them by a comparison with all the other Dark Knight figures out there. These are a bit larger, fewer, in a different package, more realistic, and yet only around 3 dollars or so more. Now, they just need to up the numbers on the Joker figures and also make the Scarecrow, Liam Neeson as Ra's Al Ghul, and perhaps Gordon too. And I definitely need a 6-inch "Superman Returns" figure now. Perhaps Lois *drool* and Lex too?

Zhu Zhu Pets Hamster Num Nums Review

(More customer reviews)Picked up two of these guys the other day (this was my second) since they happened to be in the store and I happened to be in the store. A little bit of background first: I'm a 26 year-old collector of many things including robotic pets. I've tried out Furbys, Micropets, Neopets, Scoozie pets, Petal-chi, Mutsu, Fureal Friends, and more so I consider myself a bit of an expert on the subject.

To start with, these things eat batteries, have triple A's on hand. Second, I don't have any playsets, I'm just testing the hamsters.

Upon opening and removing this little guy I tried out "cuddle mode", which was a little disappointing. The hamster will lie still and make cute noises every few seconds or so but he isn't really responding to anything. "Try me mode" is when the hamster is off but you can push his nose to hear a random noise, not a lot of fun there. Now play mode, that's where the fun is. The wheels are fast and the grip is really strong, I promptly put it on my boyfriend to see if it would climb up his shirt and it did, hit the back of the couch, made a springy noise and ran back down. Even he cracked up at it. It tackles carpet and all hard surfaces no problem, and makes a ton of different noises, some 40 in all, and each of the four designs sounds unique!. You have to be careful around stairs but all in all it does what it was made to do and cheaply at that. At normal retail they're cheaper than most action figures.

(I got mine at normal retail and I suggest you wait until you can too. If you have kids and can't find them try giving a cute IOU written from the hamster saying how it will come to live with your child after X-mas. They have a guarantee from you, you have a kid who still has something to look forward to after December. All is well.)

Remember these are for ages 3 and up and have motorized parts. It says in the instruction to supervise your child, so do so. Risk is probably minimal but if you have a kid you wouldn't give a RC car to then they're probably too little for these.

So to wrap up

Good: Funny and varied sounds, cheap, cute, runs fast and randomly, fascinates my dog!
Bad: Hard to find (for now), eats batteries (2 AAA), can pinch, can be broken with a moderate impact.

(More customer reviews)As a mom of 2 star wars fans we own about 20 lightsabers and this one is the biggest piece of JUNK.I understand that it is intended to be a costume prop but it does not even stay in one piece to serve that purpose.I guarantee you that you will be trying to tape the pieces of the saber together after 15 minutes....:(Also, the light-up feature is do dim it appeared to be broken.I purchased two of these for my boys though to I am certain it is not broken.Sorry to give such a negative review but I want to save other parents the same hassle!

He has taken them to school for show and tell and I have had other moms ask me where he got them because thier child wanted one. The monkeys are quite comical and they serve their purpose. The only reason I gave the toy 4 out of 5 stars is because I was disappointed at how small it was. I guess I never read the dimensions, but it is only about 6 inches tall in total. However, this did not bother my son at all!

The sound quality is awful.It sounds like they used a child to record the audio.The kid must have had cookies in his mouth when he made the audio recordings.There is no volume and no OFF switch!

If the kid puts in the correct cookie - too fast, it reads it wrong and then tells them did it wrong.

Then it keeps pestering the child after they walk away.

The Bakugan-Mania is here. I had no idea what my daughter was talking about since she spoke a mile-a-minute about what the latest craze in children's toys. These items are in extremely high demand and are similar in genre to Pokemon cards, Yu-Gi-Yo, and Digimon. The characters appear to be a spin off from Japanese anime, in my perception.

What are Bakugan?

They are action figures that are morphed from small plastic marbles, based upon a television show on the Cartoon Network. Each figure comes with a metallic card that has a point value. A point value is also imprinted on the figure.

A magnetic lock in the toy is triggered to open when the figure is placed onto a metallic game card.

How do you play the game?

Each player starts out with 3 Bakugan and 3 cards. Only one care can be a special ability card. The youngest player starts. Depending upon how many players are participating (2-4), determines where the cards are placed in the arena. When a Bakugan is rolled and lands on a card, it opens.

If the Bakugan does not open, the player loses a turn.

If 2 figures land on the same card, a point total is taken to count up the power value of the Bakugan + the value of the card. The higher sum wins the card and the figure. At the end of the round, the highest total of points wins the game.

My daughter's after-school care has an Bakugan Class where children play in the afternoon. She is 7 years old but her friends who have it range from 6 to 10 years old.

This game represents a unique and revolutionary spin on the game of playing marbles. It is quite creative and superficially complex to play. However, many children are compelled to play it all over the country.

Educational value

Strangely, enough, this toy has an ACTUAL educational value by requiring the players to add up or subtract the values of each figure/card.Safety and Caveats

Since these are essentially small marbles, caution should be exercised if you child has small siblings who may try to swallow this toy. It is too big to fit into someone's ear or nose; however the danger is accidentally swallowing it or aspiration (going into the child's airway). You should also be aware if you have pets since it may lead to a dangerous bowel obstruction if ingested/eaten by your pet.

Durability

These are relatively fragile items that require users to be careful with the moving parts. Sometimes, the mechanisms are defected or through wear and tear may not allow the action figure to open or close.

Conclusion
This toy system is, for now, one of the hottest items in the toy world. If you are actually lucky enough to find it, or willing to pay the premium, then you should strongly consider getting it. Your child will be extremely happy.

Luke's Landspeeder is a nice small size set that is a good build and great playability for kid's or the AFoL recreating the famous Jedi-Mind Trick on the Stormtroopers in Mos Eisley plus excellent mini-figs!

PRO's...

- Overall sleek, well designed speeder. Has the right feel, proportion and shape from the movie.
- Nice color scheme with tan and dark red accents throughout.
- Left engine detail 'exposed' like the one in the movie.
- Hidden trunk/compartment in rear. Lift the back engine to reveal a space for the lightsabers, etc.
- Brick built Sentry Droid has a nice simple/effective look and is attached to 2 clear cylinder pieces on a clear base simulating it's floating.

MINI-FIGS are just excellent. Luke with new 'wig' and brush-metal lightsaber handle. Obi-Wan as well has a brush metal lightsaber handle. Stormtrooper with laser pistol, black shoulder paltron also has a neat backpack with grey lightsaber handles as containters (use the extra black stud on top of one of the saber handles and the extra antennae from the Sentry Droid on the other handle to give it a better look and disquise the saber handles better). Great looking C-3PO and R2-D2 figures. Note on the box cover photo, they list the Sentry Droid with the other mini-figs but it's not a mini-fig but neat brick built droid.

CON's...

- Luke's hair seems a bit too long. Kinda' like the one from the Star Wars DK book exclusive.
- For some strange reason, Obi-Wan doesn't have a hood nor cape/cloak.
- Rear compartment too small for lightsabers. Need to take apart saber and handle to fit them properly.
- Bland looking cockpit.
- Sentry Droid NOT a mini-fig. A true min-fig must have a unique sculpt or print pattern.
- Another Stormtrooper mini-fig with orange shoulder paltron needed here.

Overall I recommend this set for the young Lego builder. It has neat figures and a wonderfully designed Luke's Landspeeder. Slight mod's here and there on the Landspeeders cockpit and perhaps add more room in the rear compartment can improve the kit but regardless, this a must get for any Star Wars fan and good selection of 5 min-figs! Get one now!

It took me nearly 10 minutes to remove strapping anchored to this truck within the packaging. My son spent a minute playing with this truck only to move on to his other toys. Yeah, the shovel portion drags on the floor and will NOT lock into position above the rig. This truck can hardly be moved through the carpet much less in sand. I grew up with Tonka trucks and this was obviously designed by some young suit that was babysat by the television and playstation. If your looking for a durable fun truck for your child, move on as this truck wont get the smile your looking for.

However I found that having specific "equipment" (test tubes) and "materials" engaged the interest of my kids. And most importantly, step by step suggestions for what experiments to do and what to say about them, helped me make this both interesting and educational for my kids.

My kids (3 and 4) went wild testing everything in the fridge to see if it contains acid (and thus if it would make baking soda fizz); they liked that they could guess from sourness and then test their predictions.

Ever since then my kids keep pestering me to do more chemistry. That's pretty significant. They make up (often quite wrong) theories about why different liquids fizz or mix the way they do. They got thinking about the fact that this is a question that can be asked, or that demands an explanation. To me that is a huge educational value.

Overall you could easily do the same things with kitchen materials and a well designed plan, but the kit makes it easy.

However, it's important to note that the game is played by allplayers SIMULTANEOUSLY - which does get the pace picked up quite a bit.You have to be pretty quick in "slamming" a card down to create your new word while the other players are all trying to do the same thing. Thus the four-letter word is ever-changing. I saw the commercial for this game on TV and being from a family that loves games about to head out on a family vacation, went to Target where I saw it for about $5. We played it with four adults, three adults and two adults and during each of those scenarios, had a blast. It was fun trying to stump each other with rare four-letter words. My mom has recommended it to several of her friends who have grandchildren. It's a great game for kids learning to spell and to challenge their word skills. Warning: After several rounds of this game, you'll find yourself on the lookout for four-letter words all the time!

(More customer reviews)First off, the short version: if you're not comfortable enough with tools to fix what's wrong with this toy, don't buy it.That, or check the packaging and product carefully -- if it claims a 2007 manufacture date and says it was made in China, or if on inspection you see anything wrong, pack it back up and return it as defective.At least some versiosn of this thing are at best poorly made and fragile, and at worst dangerous.

I'm not going to address the fun or educational aspects of this toy, just the manufacturing issues some have reported.Bought one for my daughter in September 2009.It arrived in a box prominently labeled "Made in China" and with a claimed manufacture date in 2007.Whatever factory in China accepted Anatex's outsourcing contract hasn't yet mastered quality control, because there were quite a number of manufacturing defects:

Imprecise assembly: fasteners and brackets are not accurately placed, causing parts to be loose or misaligned.This is most evident on the bead maze on the top and the "abacus" sliding-bead panel on the side, which is mounted on four stand-off brackets.Mount those brackets in the wrong places and the screws used to attach the panel either won't reach or will be under enough strain they'll pull out (it's very soft pine, and screw threads easily pull loose.)Up on the bead maze, some of the wire ends are mounted crooked, resulting in the wires actually touching or just passing so close to one another that the beads can't pass by.

Mismatched, incorrect parts choices: speaking of that panel, one of the screws used to mount it was the incorrect size, and had not only pulled loose but was loose in the box when I unpacked it; it doesn't match any of the others used with identical mountings, nor does it match any other screw found on the entire unit.There's no excuse for that one short of basic incompetence combined with inadequate or nonexistent quality control.

Incorrect gluing: Once again with the abacus panel -- it's held together with glue.Nothing wrong with that if it's done right, but it wasn't -- see, to make a good glue joint you need clean surfaces, a lot of contact area and a proper amount of glue inbetween, plus a good pressure fit while the glue dries.Well, the surfaces were clean and the joint more or less correctly designed, but the glue was _missing_.What was holding it together?A dab of red paint around the corner.Splendid.Paint ain't adhesive, guys, and the whole point of a glue joint is you put some actual _glue_ in there somewhere.As it was, two of the four joints had popped open, causing the rods to dislodge from their sockets and scarring the surface.Those beads are small enough to be a choking hazard if they get loose, so having those glue joints work is important.

Inadequate torque: Ah, the gift that keeps on giving.About a third of the screws and other fasteners in the unit were loose because they hadn't been torqued down hard enough.Another third had stripped the threads out of the soft wood, because they'd been torqued too hard.The remaining third were in a magical inbetween state which might even have been correct torque -- but I suspect it's just coincidence.As I mentioned, this is soft wood, and proper torque matters.(n.b. for nonmechanical types: "torque" roughly means "how hard you twist the screws.")

What else was wrong?Well, there were plenty of inexplicable gouges, scrapes and dings on the surface, even though it was properly packed and nothing in the box had a chance to impact the surface.Plenty of people have commented on that -- it means the factory in China that produced them was working too fast and/or wasn't well tooled for the job, so parts were being thrown around.

So, should you buy this toy?Well, chances are your kid(s) will love it.So if you want one, fine, but be prepared to inspect it very thoroughly when it comes out of the box.Test every screw to ensure it's snug and not loose or stripped.Pop the little plastic caps off the axles on the gear side and check that the locking washers are tight.Check the glue joints and be prepared to spend a little time gluing and clamping.Check both ends of every wire in the bead maze to ensure they're firmly stuck in their mounting holes.Go over all the many dings, gouges and scrapes and smooth out the splintered bits.Find any screws that don't look like they match their companions, gently unscrew them and if they're too short or too fine-pitched in the threads, replace them.While you're at it, attach something heavy to the lower edges on the inside, because it's top-heavy and will tip over the first time your child tries to use it to stand up.Think of it like a toy for both you and your child -- you get a fun evening in the garage fixing everything Anatex's manufacturer did wrong, while showering curses on the consumer-hostile side effects of globalized manufacturing.Then when you're done, your child gets a fun thing to play with.

(More customer reviews)I was happy to discover my 8YO son enjoyed his Didj as much as his gameboy. However, I would like to see more "education" in the educational games. The games are similiar to gameboy, nintendo, etc games, but there is a little bit of educational material stuffed in there. It is in no way comparable to the Leapster (other reviewers - if my son was only 5 - he would still be on the leapster as it is a much better toy). However, since he had mastered all of the games leapster had to offer, we moved on.

Where the leapster is constant education, the didj is 95% games and 5% education (if you call it that). The leapster teaches, the didj just tests your knowledge. The games play for several minutes and then to get to the next level, the child has to "break a code" (or something similiar) by correctly answering 3 multiple choice questions. If the child guesses correctly then he is awarded points. Not much education.

One nice thing about didj is that children earn points that they can redeem online for games or mods for their didj. Yes, there is shooting in some of the games, and some are violent, but I have not seen any blood yet. I think leapfrog could've done better.

If your child is younger than 8 or 9, give them a leapster and hope leapfrog decides to make some educational games for Didj before they outgrow the leapster games. Didj is more like a gameboy than a learning tool.

Syncing: I was unable to sync with my Vista laptop even after downloading their updated software, but syncing with an older XP laptop worked fine. I am hoping to get in touch with Leapfrog tech support but they are only open during the hours I work.

Battery Life: I purchased the recharger with the Didj and I noticed the Didj has to be recharged more often than the Leapster. I would hate to put batteries in this thing.

Hardware: The unit is sturdy, just right for 6-10 YO hands. The graphics are great, superior to many small game systems I've seen and much better than the leapster, but it is not a touch screen. My son seems happy with the given controls.

If this was sold as a toy, I would rate it higher because it is fun. As an "educational toy", this is a big disappointment.

Wasn't very practical for that purpose, as the tiny colorforms are too easy to lose, but even at home, it's a problem. They just don't stick well at all. I'd like to give them the benefit of the doubt though, say maybe it's just the climate where I live- cool and damp. However, they did seem to stick a little better when I spritzed them with water, so maybe it needs to be even more humid. In any case, I'm not too happy with them and neither is my daughter.

(More customer reviews)The twin boys from next door loved Discovery Toys Marble Works, but it was starting to loose their interest.Thought I would "upgrade" to what looks like a very cool toy, adding gears and a "power lifter" to the "marble experience" and so i bought "Marble Mania"

It comes with about 25 different types of "parts" that all friction fit together.The manual is okay, but could really use a bigger format to make reading / reference easier.It took me about 5 very frustrating hours to assemble this monster.Hint: group the similar parts together and make sure you have the right piece...because if you don't you will have to take it all apart and start over.Also, the manual only illustrates the "pictured" construct...some alternatives that require different levels of understanding and demonstration of gear ratios and other "capabilities" would really enhance the learning "possibilities / fun".

Anyway, the base does not completely interlock and will only stay together if mounted on a tabletop or hard surface.This makes moving the toy very problematic.Hint: get a piece of wood plank and cut to size to provide a permanent base for the toy.This is not something you assemble, take apart and put away...just too complicated and time consuming to re-assemble.

The friction fit allows for quite a bit of "play" in the alignment of the various gears and slides and must be constantly adjusted to keep the gears and marbles running as planned.The unit only comes with 3 marbles...for $50, they could provide a bag full.

Still, the motorized "power lifter" is cool (if very slow) and the marble runs are pretty interesting, once you get the alignment of the supporting framework perfect.It held the boys interest for about 20 minutes...pretty long for these two.They are too little to experiment with alternative configurations which would probably be a lot of fun for a pre-teen.

I think this toy would be excellent if your child has the patience, skills and interest in creative problem solving required to assemble the structure.Children who could go beyond the pictured construct and build "experimental models" with these parts would have a lot of possibilities to explore.

Don't plan on a young child building this on their own or being able to use it unsupervised.

On a side note; my Son became attached to him and named him Bob. He sits cross-legged in front of the t.v. with us. So, Bob ended up being a dual purpose item.

Bottom line- It's a great scooter for 2-3 year olds.If your child is 4 or older, and remotely coordinated, get the Razor A Kick Scooter, they will like the speed and maneuverability way better.

First, the Sun (about the size of an orange) does NOT glow in the dark AT ALL, and the planets glow very faintly.

Second, all of the planets are quite small: Jupiter and Saturn are about the size of tangerines and the rest of the planets are about the size of marbles.

Third, this set is obviously meant to hang from a LOW and FLAT ceiling, as instructions tell you to use push-pins and to tack the individual planets to the ceiling. It had better be a rather low ceiling or you will not see the small and faint planets.

Fourth, the product says it includes "hangers", which means a metal loop at the top of each planet.I mistakenly thought there would be some kind of mobile-like device that the planets would string to.

Fifth, the enclosed nylon string is much too thick for these very light-weight planets; the nylon string retains its curves from being wound around a piece of cardboard, and the planets do not really weigh down or straighten the string.

We have high vaulted ceilings so obviously this product does not work in our house as intended.I just lined up the planets above my son's closet door.I did not notice that the Sun was not painted with the glow tint until after all of my hard work of stringing up the planets, or else I definitely would have returned the product. All this said, our son seems to like and enjoy it anyway...

There is a warning on the neck that warns you not to move the head as it is delicate and may break (so far nothing has happened). He sounds authenitic and moves his head and arms and his eyes glow. His body onlt moves if you push him (his belt wheels turn). It reminds me of those toys that respond to music. He does not stay on long if you do not interact with him which is good for the batteries. He is very cute!

(More customer reviews)I agree with all the reviews here - the good AND the bad.The set is cheap, chintzy, and NOT worth the money for the materials.The magnifying glass is...well, I wouldn't even call it cheap plastic.Just impossible to see anything through it.The droppers are cheap and I am sure will not hold up to repeated use.The plastic cups are the kind they use to give you 2 pills in the hospital - disposable plastic.

The entire kit is based solely on color mixing using Crayola tub tints!I almost had a fit - I have a jar of 50 of them in the bathroom!Color mixing is all you get here.

That being said - my 4 1/2 year old loved it.Felt like a real scientist with her dropper and what-not.So, was it worth the twenty dollars?Not from a materials stand point.But for watching my daughter learn and discover and become jazzed about experiments even more than she was (if that's possible), then yes, it was worth it.

It was definitely worth Mom learning a lesson on buying good quality materials and borrowing experiment idea books from the library!

Hexbug Ant Review

(More customer reviews)The Hexbug Ant isn't a bad miniaturized robotic creature; once you get one that works, that is. Our first one went backwards, but refused to go forward, so got stuck a great deal. Fortunately I ordered from one of the sellers currently offering this toy through Amazon, Fat Brain Toys, and they have fantastic customer service, so another was dispatched immediately and arrived pretty quickly. The second one worked as advertised.

The properly-working Ant has front and rear sensors that alert it anytime it encounters an obstacle, reversing its direction so it will keep going. There is a little switch on the rear of the Ant to switch it on, and once on it is in constant motion until you manage to catch it; it is quite fast. The Ant is powered by six rapidly spinning three-prong wheels; three on either side as you'd expect from an arthropod. The leg/wheels are joined up to one another by small gears, and the one huge annoyance with the Ant is that the leg/wheels and accompanying gears like to pick up every little bit of dust and pet hair on your floor. Ultimately a little dust bunny is all it takes to bring this little creature to a halt. You then have to pick it up, switch it off, disentangle the pet hair and fluff that it picked up from - say - underneath the dresser, and give it another go. I thought I had a clean house until I invited this little critter into it, and I'm rather insulted by all the fluff he's finding under our furniture. Where does he keep finding all these dust bunnies? I vacuumed like two days ago...

Of course, an easy fix for this would be using some blocks to set up an obstacle course for it, not allowing it to find all the hidden dust bunnies under furniture, or maybe you're fortunate enough to own a Roomba or something that gets all those hard to reach places that the Ant finds and gets gunked up in.

If you can keep the Ant from critiquing your housekeeping skills by getting locked up every time it ducks under a piece of furniture, it's a pretty cute little toy, especially for the price. I like the transparent casing and the overall style of it. The speed is pretty entertaining, and I can see the cat getting a kick out of it... and then dealing it the final blow with a big puffy hairball.

I don't know that I'd buy it again, all things considered. If I'd known about the pet hair/dust bunny issue I might have sprung for a pricier slow-mover like the crab who also seems to have better clearance from the ground.

They work so well because they fold down and go in a storage bag when not in use so that they can be stored almost anywhere very easily.They give whatever is in them a nice airy environment, and the white mesh and clear top make for pretty unobstructed viewing.The only drawback is that the mesh, as can be expected, is not the sturdiest of materials and can be ripped.We have taped a couple of small tears back together, but they do eventually become beyond repair.However, for the price and the fun, good use that is gotten from them, they are a great buy.

(More customer reviews)This projector was such a disappointment.I bought it for Christmas for my 6 yr old son who is a huge Stars Wars fan.When I purchased this I had planned on him laying in bed watching a slide show on his ceiling and listening to his favorite character, Rex, explain the different starships.NOT EVEN CLOSE!First of all the image is tiny (only about 5-6" big) and the projector has to be within 3-5 ft of the surface you are projecting the image on...so you can't use it on the ceiling.You have to have a seperate CD player (I thought it the sound would come from the unit itself) and my son has to feed strips through the projecter.He had to keep adjusting the strip back and forth to get it to line up in the right spot.Then instead of interesting facts geared for a younger audience...you get a highschool science lesson!!AWFUL!!The CD doesn't even follow it's instructions it gives for prompting the strips to be changed...
I am surprised by the other reviews.Personally, I thought they were very gracious.For me, even the educational value was gone because the "science" was way over my son's head.I paid $[...] for this and thought it was $[...] too much.

He keeps asking you to do it "Again, again" when you tickle him.. and when you tickle him again he screams with glee "You've done it again" and then starts rolling on the floor. It's hard not to laugh even if you know what it will do next. I bought it for work and I think it will be great to bring it out during those workshops when everyone works all day on presentations. It would be fun to offer to tickle the Elmo as a "prize" for a cool idea...the better the idea, the more you can tickle Elmo. Should bring back some fun to brainstorming! The only problem with this Elmo is that it does shed a little. Don't bring it near your winter white coat and you'll be ok!

(More customer reviews)We got this cute little set for our darling little girl (she's 6).We explained to her how Daddy works for the IRS and when people come to his office he tells them that they owe the Government lots and lots of money and will go to jail if they don't pay up.The toy is cute because it comes with various "collection notices", arrest warrant documents, search and seizure documents, bank account information release requests forms etc.

The "HR" (human resources portion of the toy files) is neat too. You can also run a credit check on anyone for the first year for free, and for only $3.99 you can do a complete background check on any of your child's little friends. (I was always suspicious of Bobby across the street - he is 7 and does not really act his age - if you know what I mean.The files contain samples of "application denied" Dimissal documents, drug testing kits, a neat little 'truth detector game' (Suzy loves it when the buzzer goes off " Yes -I am a dinosaur" buzzzzzz.)

The City Hall files are neat too - there are neat little rubber stamps that say "REQUEST DENIED" and the ink pad is in red ink.The wife and I spent most of Saturday morning cleaning the walls where she had stamped request denied all over the house - including the bedroom.There is a cool building code section that has only fines listed (fences too high, have not shoveled the sidewalk, your "property is condemned" (I think maybe the approved stamp was missing from our kit)

The Law Office section is interesting because you have to send away for the expansion kit which costs an additional $45, but shipping is also $45 because there are 80lbs of documents in 6 boxes and we did not think our little girl wanted to read so much.

Lastly, there is a Banker section also with lots of documents - none of which seem to make sense (bloodtype???) and a litlle cute bowtie. It has the same "REQUEST DENIED" stamp also with a red ink pad - there is no "APPROVED" stamp here either.This section seems to use the HR section for credit checks and included smarrmy responses to loan applications. The list includes "you can't be serious" and "maybe we can try again next year""best of luck to you".

We have yet to open the "Psychiatric Office" section.

I would recommend this toy only to most serious of little children.

(More customer reviews)My son received these blocks for christmas.There are 9 unique mini unit block sets (we got 8 of the 9).They all come in a beautiful wooden box, although I cannot see us ever returning each set back to its box, the boxes have come in handy for building and storing other treasures.The blocks are painted nicely, not coated with that type of paint popular now a days which chips extremely easily.

The picture of these block sets is a bit deceptive, there are two layers of blocks in each, so you cannot see all the blocks in the picture.

I think this is a great size of block, we do not own any unit blocks, so I cannot say how it works with them, but its a good size for tabletop building, and the variety of shapes if you get all 9 sets is wonderful.I looked at a lot of block sets and found that when you added them together, these sets were a good value for the number of blocks you get.

Please be aware though that many of the sets do contain blocks small enough to be a choking hazard.

First, they should sell a "Super Alien Pack" with all 10 clear figures and a spare set of batteries for the watch, as the watch has those annoying button cell batteries. Second, the Omnitrix I picked up had a little quirk in that the face was reluctant to stay completely down. Also, the clear figures are designed so that they will only slot in facing the power switch, aka backwards. You can wear the watch with the power switch facing you, which is a great way to save battery, but its a bit annoying. One very positive aspect of the watch is the improved strap. It's hard to get on, but once you get the hang of it, the pegs are made much better compared to the fastening pegs for the Ben 10 Omnitrix F/X (first Omnitrix toy), which tear off after a month or so of use. Overall, great toy but a little "glitchy".

(More customer reviews)My son was immediately attracted to this set because of the familiar characters.I assembled it while he was sleeping and found that I couldn't keep the cars on the track for more than a couple of laps at the time.The controllers are too sensitive for the kind of responsiveness you need to navigate the steep curves and vertical challenges of the advertised track layout.

The Wario car, in particular, must have a weird center of gravity, because it hops off the tracks even on the slightest of curves.Mario is better, but still, this set will cause far more aggravation than delight. My suggestions to Carrera would be:

1) stronger magnets to keep the cars on track
2) lighter cars so the magnets can hold them down more easily
3) much more gradual change in speed with the analog controllers
4) entry-level sets need entry-level track layouts

I bought a competitor's 1:43 scale "kid's" set for about the same price, and it's a blast (SCX 1:43 "Tuner" set).The cars have lights for great fun in the dark, and even with reasonably steep curves, the cars can absolutely SCREAM around the track without coming out of the slot.You get less track than the Carrera set, but the SCX set more than makes up for the difference with simplicity of construction and PLAYABILITY.My three year-old had the hang of racing the SCX tuners in about 30 minutes.

I've been trying to manage the Mario set for a few hours now, and if I want to stay on the tracks, I have to creep around at a snail's pace.I'll try a simpler (FLAT) track layout next to see if we can salvage this Carrera set at all.

Who wants to see camel hair, dog hair, cat hair, sheep hair, mouse hair, etc., if there's no real distinction between them?

Also the insect slides consisted of bugs that weren't flattened properly, so what you get to see is a lump that's supposed to be an ant, another lump that's a fruitfly, and so on.

How hard is it to lay the ant flat on the slide? If it's hard for Learning Resources, they shouldn't be in the business of making slides.

I feel completely ripped off, and I feel bad that my kid doesn't get to enjoy what could've been an awesome educational experience.

This is not a game for 12 year olds, I would strongly recommend it for people over 18, however. I love that it can be played in only a half hour, I want to scream when other trivia games go over the two hour mark. I thought many of the trivia questions were clever. Bottom line, of the group of four of us, everyone thought this game was awesome.

(More customer reviews)I got this as a present for my 8yr old son for Christmas from JCPenny.When I saw the reviews here I was horrified so Xmas Eve we opened the box, added some small toys and candy to give it a try before putting it under the tree.We didnt want a disappointed child the following morning.The Claw Game worked right out of the box with no problems.

Christmas morning my son opened this and has played with almost nothing since.The first day he spent almost 3 hours emptying everything we had placed in this even letting his 3 yr old brother have a few goes with some limited success.My 8yr old has ADHD and I wasnt sure he'd have the patience for this but it's been nothing but GREAT to have around.

The only downfall I found was the plastic bag wrapped around the claw was next to impossible to get off and took some doing, but overall I'm glad I didn't listen to the reviews and went ahead with this as a gift.I would recommend it to anyone!Even the adults in the house have had a good time trying to get things out of this toy....

The resulting image is very clear and sharp, and can be viewed from a reasonable range of angles. I found that the mirror scratched easily, hence the lower mark for durability; otherwise it is pretty rugged. Barbie Collector Twilight Saga Bella Doll Review

(More customer reviews)I liked the overall packaging of the Barbie Bella Twilight doll for the atheistic value but for those who might be doll collectors or are thinking of starting be aware there is nothing all that special about this doll besides having Twilight packaging and one label inside the jacket that says Summit.

Also please be aware that if you intend to remove Bella from the box you have a job ahead of you. It seems she is wrapped up and attached well to the interior cardboard and if you get this as a Christmas gift for a young Twilighter then it will probably take you a while to get her out of the thin plastic box and all the packaging ties, tape and rubber she is attached with. Also be careful when cutting her head from the plastic attaching her to the package so you don't cut her hair in the process.

This Bella doll has bendable knees but not bendable arms which is a step back in my opinion for Mattel in comparison to the release of the Wonder Woman Pink Label all bendable doll. Be warned: the bendable knees both won't bend right out of the packaging. Mattel, in a strange move, placed a black carboard wrap around the straight leg of Bella. To free the knee of it's cardboard prison you need to remove the tape and cardboard carefully after undressing Bella of her jeans. In my case the tape adhesive had attached itself not only to the cardboard but to my doll and I had to clean it off.

Bella's head moves and rotates easily. A black plastic band acts as a head band for Bella's dark brown hair and seems to slip and slide easily so you have to keep moving it back into place if you handle the doll out of the package.

(Tip: If for some reason this band breaks just visit the beauty section in a local Wal-mart, Target, Walgreens etc.. and pick up a pack of the plastic Goody hair binders in black to replace it. The band is very similar in type to those.)

There is no Summit identification on the doll body itself to tell you it's a Twilight Saga item. The stamp on the back of the Barbie Bella head says C 1991 Mattel Inc. The stamp on the middle of the dolls low back says C 1999 Mattel Indonesia then an additional number 2509.

Bella's head is a soft plastic with glittery pink lips, red brown eye brows, black painted eye lashes and a kind of grayed yellow brown eye color. The cheeks are faintly brushed in a pink tone on the warm cream colored skin tone.

The ears look as if they could take earrings but no jewelry is provided with this doll.

The hands are bent in such a way that when Bella's arms are posed upwards it almost looks like Bella is performing the 'Y' in the dance routine for the 'YMCA' song.

Her feet are high heal Barbie feet. To keep the plastic canvas look-a-like shoes on Bella's feet, Mattel used sticky dots like you would use for scrap booking, similar to ZOTS on each heal. When removed the shoes seem to fit Bella fine and do not seem to fall off when moved around so I am guessing this was to keep it from moving in shipping etc..

Bella has no underclothing. She only comes wearing a pair of jeans and a Bella 'like' jacket blue-grey in color with pockets on the front, a gold zipper that you will have to cut the thread for to make usable and a white ribbon sewn inside that says "TM AND C Summit Entertainment, LLC." with just a folded up flat collar. This white label is the first clue you have that the doll is even associated with Summit besides the packaging itself. If the doll was mixed into other barbies you'd have a hard time defining it as a Twilight associated item.

The jeans are a typical Barbie style jean with no label and two usable pockets in the front like real jeans. In the back the jeans are connected by a navy Velcro closure. The closure does not seem to pop open easily when bending or moving the dolls legs but you can hear the Velcro closure adjusting to the movements you make.

There is a certificate of authenticity included as a novelty I suspect which tells you about the doll and there is a typical Mattel plastic Barbie doll stand. There is nothing special about the stand itself except for the Twilight logo in a gray-blue color rub on over the black base. The bottom of the base says C 1997 Mattel Inc., Indonesia and has four spongy bits to stop the stand from sliding when placed on a desk or table. The resting place for the doll to sit, and I mean sit as to keep Bella on the stand you have to bend both of her knees. She cannot stand on this as the resting rod in clear plastic is not tall enough to accommodate the doll. (I wonder if Mattel was guessing only a small portion of the population would actually try to use this stand verses just keeping the doll in the package.)

Overall the doll is a Barbie doll not a Twilight doll. It's more of a Halloween costume for Barbie. No significant accessories or jewelry. A little bit disappointing but overall if you have a young Twilighter they will just enjoy it for the novelty it was made to be and love you for making their Christmas.

Unfortunately - because the storage for the slides isn't intrinsic to the microscope - they've gotten lost. I was also disappointed that there wasn't an expansion pack of slides for the kids to learn more. Great toy - but limited.

It goes everywhere with her and provides lots of entertainment. BUT......I just can't wait for it to break or get lost because the content of it is so disappointing. The characters speak rudely, there is too much focus on appearance (including very skimpy clothing) and especially on dating and breaking up. My daughter doesn't understand why the game's mom and dad are mad all the time, why she is grounded, and why there is so much breaking up and going out. It is a toy marketed for her age, but definitely much more grown up in content, and not the kind of teen I want her to grow up to be! So, if you are just looking for a fun toy and don't care about emphasizing morals or values, then this is the toy for you!

It is pricey but worth it for such a unique quality item. It is large so don't expect a small child to be able to carry it around. My daughter even sits on the chair made for the dolls. Very cute!

I wondered if he would be able to put all the toys together easily/by himself without frustration and he has had no problems with any of the pieces.They are very well built (and trust me, this kid puts toys to the test).

I also wondered if this set would have enough pieces- I thought perhaps I would buy some additional corners and straight sections- I'm glad I didn't.There are plenty of pieces here.
Clean-up is great, too, all the pieces fit into a small basket.

If you have a child that loves trains, I would highly suggest this!

(More customer reviews)We bought this for my two boys, 2 and 3, to keep at their grandparents'.We also have the garbage truck, and another garbage truck with all the bells and whistles (sounds and buttons, etc).The kids have played with the cement truck, but not as much as the garbage trucks.This surprised me a bit, as they have never had a cement truck before, so I thought it would be a big hit.There's nothing wrong with it.It is very sturdy.It has been pushed around the gravel driveway as fast as the boys can run behind it.They put gravel inside.But it only has one moving part, turning the barrel, which I guess just isn't exciting enough.The garbage truck has trash cans that dump into it, and that they just love. I would definitely recommend this for kids who love cement trucks particularly, but for us this toy has been eclipsed by the garbage trucks.

(More customer reviews)I was looking for a good beginner board game so we could start family game night with our 3 year old and this game is great.It is very simple and does not take too long to play a round: pull the lever and one piece shoots out of the castle (fun) and if it matches your game board you keep it and if not you put it back in the castle top.Great first game, box says 3+ but 2 year olds could easily play this game with supervision.I think it is a bit overpriced, but there is not really a great selection of easy beginner games available.(We have the Lucky Ducks game - fun but noisy! And we have Hi Ho Cherry-O - fun but 40 tiny plastic cherries!)

(More customer reviews)I purchased this item for my 3.5 year old for Christmas.First it is very difficult to open.You have to put pressure on it and pull it open.My son pinched his hand closed in it and I had to put pressure on it to separate it enough for him to remove his skin from it.Within minutes one of the spare tires had come loose (not good since we have a 1 year old running around).A few minutes later the tool box came unglued and fell out.Later in the day one of the shower parts popped off.Overall I would not suggest this toy.I really wish I would have gotten the Mac hauler or some other Mac toy.This one is not impressive at all!

Magic Fabric Creation Studio Review

(More customer reviews)My six year-old daughter and eight year-old son and their five year-old friend enjoyed an afternoon playing with the Magic Fabric Creation Studio.All the kids had a great time.They'd have made more than one each, but there were only enough material for five characters, so we stopped at one per kid.

It's all quite simple.There are five cards.Each card makes one character, but kids can mix and match material if they want.On each card, Magic Fabric material is scored.The kids peel off the material like they would a sticker and place them on the press plate -- first the back side, then the middle pieces (tails, ears), then the foam insert, then the front side, then the stuff that goes on the front (eyes, nose, mouth, etc.).The fabric sticks when pressure is applied.So, place the top press plate on and run it through the machine, which presses everything together.Voila.

Actually, the press plates and machines are gimmicks, because the whole thing can be done by pressing the material with your fingers or sticking everything between two books and standing on them.You could get by with just buying the refills, but kids like the machine.

Here are some tips:
1) Younger kids will need help, if you want the work to come out neatly.Otherwise,the masterpiece will come out lopsided with the foam insert exposed.
2) Press the top edges and bottom edges together with your fingers to seal them before running them through the machine.This lines up the front and backsides perfectly and prevents the foam insert from slipping out.
3) Keep some glue handy.Although no glue is needed per the box instructions, we did find a few pieces had a hard time sticking without some help.

Refills are expensive.I wish they'd sell just the fabric, so we could invent our own characters.

I'd also mention the photo on the website is a little misleading.The machine and animals are not all that big.The creations are about three to four inches tall.

Lastly, for some reason, the kids thought the creations would stick like stickers to anything.Maybe that was in the commercials.They will only stick if you supply your own tape, which is what my son ended up doing.

PROS:
+ lots of fun for the kids

CONS:
- kids need adult help
- refills are expensive
- not many projects included

(More customer reviews)Both of my 5 year old boys got a Jenga game for Christmas this past year.One got this set and the other got the set that just comes in a box.This is definitely way better because the blocks can be put away nicely in this canister.The box for the other one is flimsy & we've taped it repeatedly already.

As for the game, it's fun & really easy to learn.All of us like it.Every family should have this.None of us are experts yet, but it doesn't matter.The boys like it just as well when the whole tower falls down.

Definitely a good gift for ages 5+.ALL ages would enjoy this.

(More customer reviews)My son is 4.5 yrs, loved the Cars movie and now loves this Leapster game cartridge.I had to pry it away from him after 3 hours of playing on the day he got it.It is a wonderful learning tool for kids 4-6 who are working on letters, words, spelling, phonics and numbers.The games are really fun and exciting, the characters have authentic voices from the movie, and there are multiple games to play.I would give this game cartridge an A+, worth the 24.99 I payed for it.If you have a child who loves Cars, they will love this!I even enjoyed playing the tractor tipping game as I raced down the track as "L. McQueen" and watched in my rear view mirror to make sure "Frank" wasn't on my tail.
Another great cartridge is the Letters on the Loose.

Unfortunately, it's just a box with some alphabet letters, colored cups, rubber animals, etc. My daughter enjoyed sorting by color and by animal, but I could have done the same thing with various items in my house. I was disappointed with the lack of ideas that came with the product. It was way overpriced (I paid $36! and also purchased one for my niece) and would not recommend anyone else purchase it.
